DISTAS (District Assembly) which will be held on April 25, 2009 at Mandarin Hotel
in Makati. Assembly will start at 8 am to 5pm but all the participants must be there
1hour before it starts because of many preparations. Pls follow my lists.

RCSM Community Service in Bula Cam. Sur

April 2, 2009 (4am Las Pinas City).. PE Carmen, Rtn. Malou and Me (Club Sec Eli)
left Las Pinas City for our preparation in Bula, Cam. Sur. We arrived 3:30 pm in
Naga City and stayed in Crown Hotel located in the city of Naga. Our hotel
reservation is through the sponsorship of our PN Homer and his wife Rtn.

April 2, 2009 (10:00pm Manila).. CP Arlene, Rtn. Mario, Rtn, Tito and members of
the family left Manila to arrived early in Bicol. While PN Homer and his wife Rtn.
MaryAnn and their daughter Estephanie waited for almost a week in the said
province for an early preparation. April 3 (5am).. CP Arlene and the RCSM members
and family has arrived early.

It was a rainy day in Bicol (April 3) but we have to wake up early because we must
proceed to Bula, Cam. Sur at 8am. At exact 8:30 am we proceed to Bula Central
Elem. School were Principal and the whole teachers are waiting for us. April 3 is
the Recognition Day of Bula, Elem. School and we gave our donation to all the
students of the Town.

3:40 pm .. We left Bula, Cam. Sur and heading back to Manila. Though it was a very
tiring day but RCSM give good service and happiness to all the students in Bula,
Cam. Sur.

R.I. President's message:
Rotary's US$200 Million Challenge

27 February 2009 at the International Assembly in January, we were priviledged to
host a special guest from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Microsoft founder
Bill Gates Jr., who had come to speak to the Gates Foundation's involvement in
Polio Plus. A few momonts into his remarls, the room erupted in cheers at the
announcement that Rotary's US$100 Million Challenge had become Rotary's
US$200 Million Challenge : The Gates Foundation would comit an additional
$250 Million of funding, over and above its initial $100 Million contributuion, and
Rotary would agree to raise an additional $100 Million match by the 30th
of June 2012.

Handover of Charter Files

It was a great success for the Probationary Rotary Club of San Marcelino Manila
Chapter President Arlene L. Jacobo to personally hand over the charter files to
Mother Club Pres. Edwin Chiu and in the presence of DGSR Magic Ong and IPP
Robert Tong last Feb. 13, 2009 held at San Marcelino Medical Clinic located in
Malate Manila.

The ceremony was joined by the members of RCSM, Guests, Kanlungan sa ERMA
Brgy. Captains of 725 and 724 in Malate. An open forum wa served in the presence
of all RCSM members together with the NGO's of Kanlungan ERMA while Brgy.
Captain Rico Veneracion promised to give his security assistance to RCSM's 1st
local feeding project. This project was duly organized by the RCSM in supporting
abused children of the society.

Greetings. We are a newly formed Rotary Club of San Marcelino, Manila Philippines
District 3810. We are still a probationary club but i am happy to say that our club
were already 28 members now and we are stepping forward to do local projects in
our country mainly livelihood projects, humanitarian projects, adaptation of small
barangays and foundation for abused children. As a newly organized club, we will
be needing more International Help to make our club strong and active to give more
